7.09.06: As autumn approaches.

End of the 2006 Festival Season
Well, this summer we’ve travelled to quite a variety of locations and met heaps of people over the festival season. We’ve been to an assortment of events ranging from Folk and Jazz through to Dance music. Just to say thank you to everyone who came into our stall to browse & buy, especially to those of you who ventured out in the sizzling heat or torrential rain!
We are happy to say that we have also had a respectable interest in the Tibet Society / Tibet Government in Exile leaflets, alongside purchases of the postcards in aid of the Shuxiong Tibetan Schools Fund.
With just one more festival to go, you still have time to catch us at the Thames Festival in London on the 16th and 17th of this month. You should be able to find us somewhere on the South Bank near the National Theatre.
We are now turning our minds to booking our stall into Christmas Fairs. In the interim, we are trying to get a casual pitch on the Bristol Saturday Nails Market, but sadly to say without much success at the moment!
Further development of the Tibetan Dawn Website.
We now have ready for uploading a new toy on our web shop. We have purchase a little item called a “Wimpy Button”, which Reuben our website developer has kindly integrated in to the system. We are now able to upload short excerpts from Tibetan music CD’s to enable a taster before you buy. Watch this space as they say!
We are hoping to further its use with recordings of our singing bowls and readings from our collection of books on sale. Now that the main festival season is over, we are hoping to put the rest of our stock onto the web in time for Christmas.
Tashi Lhunpo Monastery – Monks on Tour
We discovered the UK website of the Tashi Lhunpo Monastery the other day. This is one of our favourite monasteries in Bylakuppe, South India. It’s a little off the beaten track, not being on the main road system through the Tibetan Camps. They are currently on tour here in the UK until December. Well worth a visit.
